Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is one of the few cities in the country and world to possess a 4 century old, and live underground water supply system. It is well known as NAHER-E-AMBARI. The old town which was known as Aurangabad was provided with this unique water supply system. It is a creation of a genius called Malik Amber.
Purpose of this proposal is to provide tourist Visitors Center and Display and Demonstrations for Centuries old Water System.
Facilities provided in this proposal are Exhibition Space, Display Panels, Open to Sky Courts, Seating Area, Tunnel (To Experience actual Naher), Rainwater Harvesting Water Tank.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) and INTACH, jointly working at the development of the GOMUKH – the first point where the NAHER opens in the city as a tourist’s attraction center. This development basically is comprised of information of NAHER and its historical significance. Appeal to citizens to take care of our heritage and needless to mention serve as a proud place of visit to local, domestic and global visitors. It will have a mockup of a NAHER, Mughal Garden and permanent display boards describing the importance and information on NAHER.
