This project is reconstruction of secretariat office building and Darbar hall at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, district Mumbai
While designing of these buildings taken care of advantage of west side winds, Minimal exposure, Sea view, East side entrance, Open courtyards to get maximum light and air and Use of natural contours.
Plan form of the building is symmetrical on either axes – similar to most of the buildings in the premises. Architecture style and visual character is similar to character of heritage buildings in south Mumbai area. Use of natural stone- porbandar stone – used in most of the heritage buildings in south Mumbai. Interaction with nature- most of the rooms facing sea side.
The sustainable design approach provides Natural light and ventilation, Cavity walls, Weather shades, Use of natural stone, recycling of waste, Rainwater harvesting, Use of non- toxic materials.
