Swati Maharaja
project narrative
Swathi Maharaja
The large rain tree on the exterior, shading the southern facade inspired us to open the existing closed in structure to the exterior with minor structural intervention.
The Interior is envisaged as a celebration of Art, Culture and cuisine. Copper pots used in the traditional cooking inspired us to use them in the interior. Kalamkari art an ancient hand painting art form from Andhra Pradesh, was used as accent that brought in vibrancy in the decor.
The design concentrates on spatial flow and achieves a sense of connectedness to the exterior Minimal material palette with varying expressions creates a sense of oneness.
