This home is a quick weekend getaway of sorts, perfect for rejuvenation of the body, mind and spirit. The strategy here is to evoke a feeling of being in solitude with nature while stimulating a feeling of nostalgia, with the use of sloping roofs, traditional design elements & lush greenery, all reminiscent of the client’s ancestral home in Kerala.
The experience of the home begins from a light wooden bridge over a waterbody, with its own natural ecosystem, that takes centre stage at the entrance, and a large spacious driveway in the front.
The spaces are carefully designed to strike a balance between the surroundings and the interiors. The exposed brick walls, resembling the traditional Indian weaving patterns, adds a distinctive value to the conventional brick of particular note is the lack of dichotomy between the contemporary style and the traditional elements, giving the home it’s unique charm.
