The village is built on a beautiful 7 acre piece of flat land with the backdrop of Thirumala ranges. It consists of 12 family units providing homes to 120 children and accommodation for aunts, co-worker and the village director.
As in all the SOS Children’s villages, a kindergarten, community home, administration, office, youth facility and other service areas form a part of the village.
The design has been developed based on the following: – Primarily understanding the hot & dry weather conditions, landscape & topography of the site – Traditional art & Culture of Andhra Pradesh was studied and incorporated. – Sustainability principles such as rain water harvesting, day lighting, Segregation – recycle –
Reuse – of water have been incorporated.
